Race Updates

Round two of the GLTC season at Carolina Motorsports Park was our first outing with the E90s. We signed up for the Thursday test day before the official Gridlife event kicked off. Unfortunately, the weather didn't cooperate, and our only practice on Thursday was on a soaking-wet track. While the rain didn’t help us dial in the car setups, the testing proved to be beneficial for Mendez, who had an easily repairable fuel pump issue surface in one of the sessions. Car #83 was the first of the two to hit the dyno Thursday afternoon, confirming the car’s power-to-weight was legal.

As the winter months fly by, we are excited to announce our racing schedule for the 2024 Gridlife GLTC season. The team has been hard at work all winter and we cannot wait to get back on track! The 2024 Gridlife Racing Season is fast approaching and we are excited and proud to announce HRE Wheels as a sponsor for our two-car 2024 GLTC campaign.

Gridlife's Mid-Ohio event was the team’s 5th and final planned race weekend and the only track that Mendez had previously raced on the GLTC schedule. This event was only one week after our Road America visit. If you missed the race summary you can read about it here. Due to the relatively close proximity between the two midwestern tracks, it did not make sense for the team to drive all the way back to our HQ in South Florida.

Gridlife was asked to be a support series along with Porsche Cup for the popular Nascar Xfinity series this year at Road America in Elkhart Lake Wisconsin. If you haven't been, this is a long and fast racetrack in a very beautiful part of our country.

Gridlife’s ten year anniversary was this year at Gingerman Raceway in Michigan at their largest event of the year, the Midwest Festival. The GLTC racing class is in its fifth year, and the Condor race team headed north on the 1400 mile tow to their third event with GridLife. The team returned with the #14 again, but this time with a few upgrades. 

The team is back from their first-ever track event with GridLife at Carolina Motorsports Park. Carlos Mendez took his Spec E9X to compete in the GLTC Racing Series, and Thomas J. Lathrop was there competing in the Time Attack series. Looking back, the guys really enjoyed their time at GridLife. The event was really well organized and having spectators, drifters, and racers at the track all at once really creates amazing energy that can't be found anywhere else.

In this article, we recap the first official Spec E9x race which took place at Homestead Miami Speedway in January of 2023. The new class of cars were on full display and driven in anger as this event featured the first race between drivers Carlos Mendez and Curtis Buxton in their Condor Speed Shop sponsored cars.
