Rear Subframe & Pocket Reinforcements / E36
The rear half of the E36 chassis is prone to cracking as power, grip, and suspension loads increase. Stress typically concentrates at the rear subframe mounting points and the front mounting pocket of the rear trailing arm, both of which are well-known failure areas on track-driven cars.
Our Rear Chassis Reinforcement Kit is designed to address these problem areas as a system. The subframe plates reinforce the chassis mounting points where cracks commonly begin, while the rear trailing arm pocket plates strengthen another high-load area that often fails under track use.
The C-shaped trailing arm pocket plates are intentionally designed to allow proper fitment and clean weld access while reinforcing the area that actually carries load. This shape integrates smoothly with the factory pocket without interfering with surrounding structure, making installation more straightforward while still adding meaningful strength where it’s needed.
Precision cut from .125" (1/8") steel, the plates are designed to be welded directly into the chassis, where they become part of the structure rather than a surface patch. This makes the kit suitable both for repairing existing cracks and as a preventative upgrade to help avoid chassis repairs. Professional installation is recommended.
