Condor Collector Series No. 001

Long before the E30 M3 became BMW's touring car icon, BMW's first-generation 5 Series was already proving itself on Europe's toughest circuits.

This pin celebrates the Team Bastos BMW 528i that captured victory at the 1982 Spa 24 Hours, ending five consecutive runner-up finishes and delivering one of the defining victories of the Group 1 touring car era. Battling factory-backed competition in changing weather conditions, the privateer Bastos team relied on the E12's balance, durability, and relentless consistency to secure an historic overall win.

As the final Spa 24 Hours contested under Group 1 regulations, the race marked the end of one chapter in touring car racing before the introduction of Group A. BMW E12s finished eight of the top ten positions overall, demonstrating just how capable the chassis had become in the hands of independent teams.

This release is the first entry in the Condor Collector Series, a collection dedicated to the privateers, race cars, and overlooked moments that helped shape BMW motorsport history. Every pin is paired with a custom collector card featuring period-inspired artwork and the story behind the car it commemorates.
