Aluminum Transmission Tunnel Reinforcement Brace – E9X

The factory E9X transmission tunnel brace adds reinforcement below the driveshaft, but the original steel piece weighs 3 lb 10 oz. Our aluminum replacement retains the bracing function while significantly reducing unnecessary weight.

Made from 1/4" aluminum, the Condor Transmission Tunnel Reinforcement Brace weighs just 1 lb 5 oz—saving 2 lb 5 oz compared to the 3 lb 10 oz factory brace. That's approximately a 64% reduction in weight from a simple bolt-on component.

The brace mounts in the factory location below the driveshaft and replaces the original piece without adding unnecessary complexity. It’s an easy way to remove weight from the chassis while retaining the transmission tunnel reinforcement BMW designed into the car.

Developed for E9X track and race builds where removing weight matters, but eliminating a structural brace isn’t the answer.
