Install Notes

  1. Remove shift knob (pull straight up for most OEM knobs).
  2. Peel off the old boot from the trim ring.
  3. Slide the new boot over the ring, align the seams, and install.
  4. For a complete refresh, pair it with a Condor Replacement Shift Boot Trim Ring.

Our Black Suede Shift Boot is Easy to Install!

Installing your Condor Black Suede Shift Boot is easy and requires no specialized tools or modifications. Here’s a quick guide:

  1. Remove the Shift Knob: If you're using an OEM BMW knob, simply pull it straight up. Be mindful not to hit yourself or break your rearview mirror when it releases (we have seen both!).
  2. Remove the Old Shifter Boot: Carefully squeeze the trim ring to remove the stock boot from the center console.
  3. Prepare the Trim Ring: If you're reusing your original trim ring, carefully peel off the old boot. If your trim ring is broken, you can upgrade to one of our durable carbon-infused trim rings.
  4. Install the New Boot: Slip the new shift boot over the trim ring, ensuring the seams are evenly placed on the corners and it is a snug fit over the trim ring.
  5. Reinstall the New Shift Boot: Reinstall the trim ring with the new shift boot over the gear shift lever.

Once installation is complete, make sure the boot is properly aligned and doesn’t obstruct the shift lever. Adjust as necessary to ensure a perfect fit.
